Town Hall

Ontario Places to Grow discussion paper

By 2030, more than 4 million newcomers will call Ontario home, a large percentage of whom will settle in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. To make sure that Ontario can accommodate this growth and make it work, the government of Ontario is developing a growth plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

The plan identifies Newmarket as an "Emerging Urban Centre" that has some of the characteristics of priority urban centres and will become home to future urban development.

For more information – including a copy of the Places to Grow discussion paper and opportunities to have your say about the plans – please visit the Ontario Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal website.
