Break the Habit
Newmarkets anti-idling campaign was launched during Newmarket's anti-idling week on June 4-10, 2006.
Coined 'Break the Habit', the campaign focuses on promoting the new bylaw, educating the public about why idling is a bad habit and promoting the good habits motorist should adopt.
As part of the education campaign, the Town produced street signs, brochures, t-shirts, a full-page ad, window decals, temporary tattoos and posters. The Town also partnered with Foxy 88.5 FM and gave away complete engine kits (to reduce engine emissions) to five trivia winners throughout anti-idling week.
