Grants & Incentive programs

The Community Improvement Plan (CIP) gives municipalities the ability to designate areas that require extra assistance to achieve specific planning goals set out in the plan. Under the CIP, the Town of Newmarket can offer a package of incentives that include a Grant and Incentive Program for property owners within the boundaries of the CIP.

Through the CIP, the Town of Newmarket and the Newmarket Downtown Development Subcommittee (NDDS) work with property and business owners to: fast-track downtown development and redevelopment applications; help determine future uses of vacant buildings; initiate infrastructure and aesthetic improvements; improve and expand downtown properties; create a marketing strategy promoting Newmarket's Historic Downtown; and act as an information source for the area.
