 The Building Division is responsible for the enforcement of The Building Code Act and The Building Code Regulations. The division consists of a Chief Building Official, building inspectors and support staff. They review all plans, assist in the completion of a building permit application and perform various on-site inspections. Building Permits are required for structures occupying an area greater than ten square metres consisting of a wall, roof and floor or any of them or a structural system serving the function thereof including all plumbing, works, fixtures and service systems.
