Town Hall

Vote 2010

Municipal elections occur every four years. The 2010 election is taking place on Monday, October 25.   Expect to see ongoing updates to our site as we move through the course of the election year.  If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to contact us.

Since 2003, the Town of Newmarket has been subdivided into wards. Each ward has one Ward Councillor who is elected by the voters who live in that ward, and who then represent the ward on Town Council. Council consists of a Mayor, who leads the municipality and is elected by the voters in all wards, a Regional Councillor, who is also elected by the voters in all wards, and all the Ward Councillors.

On Monday October 25, 2010, the citizens of Newmarket will be voting for the following offices:

  • 1 candidate for Mayor
  • 1 candidate for Regional Councillor
  • 1 candidate for Ward Councillor representing the ward in which you live
  • 1 candidate for School Board Trustees in one of the local school boards

Voting is a democratic right - exercise that right on Monday, October 25!
