Welcome to the Recreation Youth Centre. Our objective is to provide a relaxed atmosphere for young people to hang out and have fun with friends. We focus on those aged 13 - 17 years, but also feature specific opportunities for children under 12 and young adults 18+. In keeping with the idea this centre is dedicated to young people, we ask all parents to exit the building at any time when the facility is dedicated for the 12+ age group. Please feel comfortable leaving your child here so they can socialize with other youth, in a relaxed, yet supervised environment. We appreciate your understanding regarding this building's objective.
Parents are welcome to relax in the Recreation Youth Centre during the 12 and under periods; however, if you make use of the equipment (games / fitness area, gym, etc) you are required to purchase a drop in wristband for $1.00.
The RYC features a large indoor Sk8Park with 10,000 square feet of ledges, stairs, rails, gaps, boxes, banks, custom ramps, a wall ride with five feet of vert and a 32 foot wide 4' mini ramp with two 5' extensions and a 6' roll in that leads to an 11 foot high bank. The park provides for a great experience. No matter what your skate ability - beginner to advanced.
As well the Recreation Youth Centre has a full gymnasium, games area (pool table, tabletop shuffleboard, air hockey tables, foosball, table tennis, large screen TV, Wii, and assorted board games), Fitness Area - for those aged 14+), and Computer Lab:
Bicycles, unicycles, longboards, and RipStiks are not permitted in the park.

The National Skateboard Certification Program SKATZ progression based teaching system is featured in our lessons delivered at the Newmarket Sk8Park! These lessons focus on skill development and challenge! Students are encouraged to develop their skills at their own unique pace. Safety is key. Our instructors are fully trained and certified.
