In 2014, the Town partnered with Forum Research Inc. to gauge resident satisfaction with existing services and level of engagement with the community by conducting a telephone survey. A sample of 801 Newmarket residents provided feedback on Town services and local government. Key findings from the survey indicate that:

  • 95 per cent of residents are satisfied living in Newmarket.  
  • Four out of five residents are satisfied with local municipal government.  
  • 84 per cent of residents felt they were receiving at least fair value for their tax dollars and user fees for Town services.  

Four out of five residents are satisfied with overall services provided by the Town, particularly in the quality of service delivery. The 2014 Community Survey builds on the Town's previous survey initiatives in 2005 and 2010 that established a baseline to compare against in the future. The results of the 2014 Community Survey will assist Town staff and Council stay connected to their residents while helping the new council with the setting of their priorities for the 2014 to 2018 term.​
