Newmarket Historical Society: First World War Interactive Trench Exhibit 


November 3 to 17
Monday to Friday 4 to 8 p.m. and Weekends noon to 8 p.m.

The First World War is considered one of the most defining events of modern history and touched the lives of every Canadian - young or old, man or woman, at home or abroad - including those in the Town of Newmarket. Despite being a small town of close to 3,000 people, Newmarket's mighty response to the war was on of fierce patriotism and generosity. 

Experience a unique look at Newmarket's history during the First World War; travel through a replica trench and subway tunnel, see First World War artifacts, real footage of Newmarket soldiers heading off to war, and learn about how the town celebrated its soldiers when they returned!
